Apart from his career in the newsroom, she is also a part-owner of The Hermosa Beach Fish Shop on Pier Avenue. The restaurant closed its doors for good over the weekend of Oct. 20, 2019, after more than five years in business. The restaurant was well known for its authentic and delicious chowder and fish tacos. Jimenez publicized that the restaurant had to be closed due to personal reasons which she did not tell the public. “We have been blessed to meet so many people in the community that we may never have met without the restaurant,” said Jimenez in a statement. “We want to thank all of our customers, employees, suppliers, and friends for helping make this a great run.”
The restaurant opened its doors for the first time in 2014 and had a ton of delicious fresh fish that could be made into a taco, a platter, or a salad making the restaurant a favorite of locals for a quick, but tasty lunch or dinner. During Jimenez’s announcement, she stated that the restaurant’s recipes can still be found at their partner’s locations in Pacific Beach, Encinitas, and Point Loma.
