John Gregory is an American News Anchor/Reporter working for KABC – ABC7 in Los Angeles, California. He joined the station in the year 2000.
Originally from New York, his family moved to San Diego when he was a teenager. Gregory says that he quickly fell in love with Southern California and has made it a point to try and stay close to home throughout his career.

Gregory serves at KABC – ABC7 as a general assignment reporter and a co-anchor of the weekend morning editions of ABC7 Eyewitness News. He got his first job at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona, where he learned to produce, anchor, shoot and edit his own stories. Gregory’s next stop was KTNV in Las Vegas, Nevada as a weekend anchor and reporter.
He then went back to San Diego for seven years as a reporter at KNSD prior to joining ABC7. He covered the 2000 Democratic National Convention for ABC7 Eyewitness News. During the controversial election that followed, Gregory reported live from Washington, D.C. as the court cases generated by the election results were heard by the Supreme Court. After the September 11 terrorist attacks, he joined the California National Guard troops as they traveled to the Middle East on a mission to guard and protect U.S. military installations.
In 1995, he was awarded an Emmy for his coverage of the Tank Rampage in San Diego, and in 1996 for the Harmony Grove Wildfires in San Diego. Mentioning education, Gregory attended San Diego State University where he graduated with a political science degree.
