Tim Wieland is an American Emmy Award-winning News Anchor/Reporter/Director working for CBS4 Denver in Colorado. He is thrilled to work with the CBS4 news team.

Wieland attended the University of Colorado where he graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism. Wieland is also a graduate of the Newsroom Management program at the Poynter Institute and currently serves as Guest Faculty at Poynter for Leadership seminars.

Wieland serves at CBS4 Denver as a News Director, a position he has held since June 2004. He is a veteran employee working at KCNC-TV began in the year 2001 when he was hired as Assistant News Director. Since joining KCNC, the News Department has received several industry honors, including three national Edward R. Murrow Awards, the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award in 2006, several regional Murrow Awards including the award for Overall Excellence, and dozens of Emmy Awards.
Prior to that, he was a Newscast Producer and Field Producer for CNN based in Atlanta. As field producer, Wieland traveled to stories such as the Columbine High School shooting in 1999 and the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2000.
Prior to CNN, he spent seven years at KCNC writing and producing newscasts and was later promoted to Executive Producer. Wieland began his broadcast journalism career as a reporter at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado.
He is active in the Denver community and is involved in several philanthropic organizations. Wieland is on the board of the Adoption Exchange, currently serving as vice-chair. He is a mentor for the “Boots to Suits” program which helps military veterans return to the workplace and a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Colorado journalism program.
