Kathy Walsh is an American retired Emmy Award-winning reporter/anchor who is well known for having worked at CBS4 Denver in Colorado. She joined the station in 1984 and retired in the year 2021.

Walsh recently served at CBS4 Denver as an anchor of the weekend broadcasts at both 5 and 10 p.m. and covered a variety of issues as a general assignment reporter. She began as a reporter for the CBS4 10 p.m. news. She has covered everything from a killer avalanche in Breckenridge to the installation of a Cardinal in Rome. Walsh announced her retirement on May 29, 2021. She said that it was an honor to work at CBS4 for 37 years.
She grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey, and graduated with honors from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Communications. Kathy quickly launched her career in broadcasting as an anchor, reporter, producer, photographer, and editor at WVII-TV in Bangor, Maine. Walsh has worked as a reporter at WSMV-TV in Nashville and WXYZ-TV in Detroit.
Her work has been singled out with numerous awards. Walsh won both an Emmy and a regional award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association for her series “Living in Limbo” the story of one man’s struggle to survive a bone marrow transplant. Walsh has also won awards from the Associated Press and the Colorado Broadcasters Association.
She is hard-working, confident, and competent. But Walsh admits stories of human loss tug at her heartstrings and can be the most challenging part of her job. Walsh is married with three children. Walsh and her husband love Denver for its friendly, intelligent community and are active outside of work. Kathy is a member of the Women’s Forum of Colorado, an emcee at many humanitarian functions, and a volunteer at St. Mary’s Academy.
