Jim Hill is an American sportscaster, former professional football player, and sports director working for CBS2/KCAL9. Hill is one of the nation’s most respected sports anchors.

Hill serves at CBS2/KCAL9 as a lead sports anchor and sports director. He has been a fixture on CBS2 in Los Angeles for more than 30 years. Hill appears on the station’s weekday 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts and he also hosts the weekend editions of “Sports Central” – Southern California’s most comprehensive sports newscast.

Hill, who played defensive back in the National Football League, draws upon his talents as a broadcaster and his experience as a player, and coach to deliver his award-winning sports reports and relationships with top athletes.
In May 2006, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony that was attended by a Who’s Who list of Hall of Fame athletes, government leaders, and entertainers. He was inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010.
The same organization has named Jim and his CBS2 and KCAL9 colleagues the best television sports anchor staff in the Los Angeles area numerous times. Additionally, Jim has been honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Associated Press, Los Angeles Press Club, United Press International, and many other organizations.

During his first season as a Green Bay Packers player in 1972, he begins his broadcasting career as a contributor to the Monday and Tuesday evening newscasts of Green Bay station WBAY-TV; as the primary affiliate of the CBS-TV Network in Green Bay at the time, WBAY-TV carried most Packers games during the 1970s.
After retiring from the NFL, he started in 1976 at KCBS-TV (then KNXT), where Hill was a sports anchor for 11 years. He started on the NFL on CBS in 1980 as an analyst. But in 1992–93 and 1984, 1985, he was the play-by-play announcer on selected games. Hill also served as Sideline Reporter for CBS Sports’s coverage of the 1984 Super Bowl.
