Gersh served at CBS2 / KCAL9 as an anchor of This Morning, from Monday to Friday at 4:30 am, 5 am, 6 am, and 11 am. A native of Los Angeles, Gersh was thrilled to be back at KCBS after working at WHDH in Boston, Massachusetts where she reported weather and traffic for the station’s weekday morning newscast. In her special series, ‘D-Tours with Danielle,’ Gersh took viewers to special landmarks around Boston including the famous Citgo sign, an underground tour of the tunnels built during Boston’s Big Dig, and a climb up to the top of the greatest piece of copyrighted art in the world.
Prior to making the move to New England, she worked as a weather reporter and anchor on CBS Local 2 and at KESQ in Palm Springs. During her time there, Gersh was nominated for an Emmy after her coverage of a 700-year storm that hit the area. Gersh also had the opportunity to report several haboobs that moved through the desert.
While in college, Gersh spent time as an intern for CBS both in Dallas and Los Angeles. In Texas Gersh covered the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and also the serious weather outbreak in 2013 that moved through parts of Texas and also resulted in the Moore tornado.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and riding her horse. Gersh also loves trying new restaurants, traveling, and hiking.
