Puente served at Fox 5 New York as a meteorologist and feature reporter. Before joining fox 5 she was working as a Chief Weather Anchor at WWOR-TV. Prior to that, Puente was /My9 providing forecasts for the station’s “My9 News at Ten.” Puente joined My9 from WCBS-TV where Puente provided weather forecasts for “CBS 2 News This Morning” and “CBS 2 News at Noon.” Puente also provided fill-in reports for the CBS national morning program “The Early Show.”
Before, Puente served as a meteorologist for WNBC-TV and delivered weekend reports for “Today in New York.” Before this, she was the weekend meteorologist for WAPT-TV in Jackson, MS., where Puente appeared on the station’s 5 PM and 10 PM newscasts. Earlier, Puente served as the weekend weather anchor for WXVT-TV in Greenville, MS, and the weekday weather anchor at WJCL-TV in Savannah, GA.
She started her career as a production assistant at WNYW-TV in New York. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the National Weather Association, and the American Meteorological Society.
