Lew Leone Career
Leone serves at FOX 5 New York as a Senior Vice President and General Manager. Before joining FOX 5 and My9, he spent three years at WCBS-TV working as the president and general manager. He also worked for three years as the vice president of sales at WNBC-TV. Leone worked as NBC Network’s vice president of Olympics sales and sports in 1998. Lew became responsible for sports sales efforts, including marketing strategies and new business development during this role. Later Lew was promoted to this position after working as WNBC’s local sales manager for a period of two years.
Leone also worked as an account executive for ABC Sports Sales from 1993 to 1996, where he was responsible for sales of the network’s sports properties. Leone’s professional background includes serving as sales manager for Capital Cities/ABC National Television Sales in St. Louis and account executive for both WABC-TV in New York and ABC National Sales in Chicago.
He is an active participant in the television industry and also the local community. Lew is also part of the Board of Directors of the New York State Broadcasters Association, the New York City Police Museum, the Broadway Association, the Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation, the John Reisenbach Foundation, PENCIL, and the Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Leone works as a corporate advisory board member for the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families and is a member of the Business Committee for the Metropolitan Museum and also a member of the Ad Council New York Leadership Committee. He is besides an advisory board member for the New York chapter of the League of Women Voters and a part of the Steering Committee for the coalition for a Better New York (ABNY). Currently, Leone has started delivering editorials for Fox 5 focusing on public education.
