Caryn Tyson Biography

Caryn Tyson is a Republican member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 12. He represented the 12th District since 2013 and was first elected to the chamber in 2012.

She was previously a member of the Kansas House of Representatives serving from 2011 to 2013. Tyson was a Republican candidate for Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House. Tyson lost the primary on August 7, 2018. The state senator is also a fifth-generation Kansan from Parker.
She graduated from Kansas State University with two B.S degrees in computer science and mathematics. She later earned her M.S in engineering management from Kansas University. She also has professional experience in the IT industry for over 24 years providing space shuttle support for NASA and also operating a cattle ranch.
