Johnny Depp Biography

Johnny Depp, an American actor, producer and musician were born John Christopher Depp II in Owensboro, Kentucky, on June 9, 1963, to one Betty Sue who was a waitress and John Christopher Depp, a civil engineer.

The Depps later relocated to Florida soon after the death of his grandfather and there he was raised together with his sisters Debbie and Christi Dembrowski, who in the future is a personal manager; and his older brother D.P. Depp who in present-day becomes a screenwriter.

 

A year after his parents’ divorce and at the age 16, Johnny Depp dropped out of Loft Studio school in Los Angeles, California in the intention of becoming a rock musician. Being a musician did not work for him so he took up the job of being a ballpoint-pen salesman to support himself and his wife, Lori Anne Allison.

Depp’s acting career came to be when he and his wife visited Los Angeles where he met up with actor Nicolas Cage, who advised him to turn to acting, which led to Depp’s film debut in the low-budget horror film, A Nightmare on Elm Street, where he played a teenager who falls prey to dream-stalking demon Freddy Krueger.

Depp’s efforts paid off in 1987 when he landed a role on the television show 21 Jump Street. He has since starred in several popular films and gained popularity for his work on the silver screen. In 1997 he played an undercover FBI agent in the fact-based film Donnie Brasco and in 1998 he appeared in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas which was directed by Terry Gilliam. Later in 1999, Johnny Depp appeared in the sci-fi/horror film The Astronaut’s Wife and also teamed up again with Burton in Sleepy Hollow where he brilliantly portrayed Ichabod Crane.

In the year 2003 he starred in the marvelous family blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl a role that opened several doors for his career and included an Oscar nomination. Depp then did several other films and later collaborated again with Burton in a screen adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,  Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows.

In the year 2013 Depp starred as Tonto in the movie The Lone Ranger which got a very good reception. Later in the years 2015 and 2016 Johnny Depp starred in Black Mass and Alice Through the Looking Glass respectively.

However, now TMG has hit back at Depp with allegations that the Pirates of the Caribbean star is “a habitual liar,” according to USA Today. Per the countersuit, Depp makes irresponsible spending decisions and tosses excessive amounts of cash at shallow purchases, such as expensive art, fine wine, lavish properties, private jets, and an enormous yacht. The company accused Depp of leading an “ultra-extravagant lifestyle” that requires “profligate” spending of millions of dollars per month. It should be noted that Johnny Depp has denied his spending is a problem. The 53-year-old movie star put the blame for the mishandling of his assets squarely on the shoulders of his former management team.
