Katie Corrado is a popular American general assignment reporter for PIX11 News. Earlier, she had previously worked at FOX 61, Tribune’s sister station in Hartford. Katie is a weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter at WTIC-TV FOX 61 (FOX Connecticut) in Hartford. She joined FOX CT in 2014 from the WSTM/WTVH/WSTQ triopoly in Syracuse, NY, where she was a reporter and weekend, evening anchor. Previously, she was an anchor and reporter for Fordham University’s Fordham Nightly News. She also interned at CBS News, WABC-TV and Fox 5 New York.
A native of Cedar Grove, NJ, Katie is a 2012 graduate of Fordham University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies. Katie, who graduated cum laude from Fordham, was named a recipient of the Edward A. Walsh scholarship. Her work was also recognized by the New York State Associated Press Broadcaster’s Association while in college.
From there, she successfully fought the chief of police at the state’s Freedom of Information tribunal for access to records. Furthermore, Corrado investigated abuse allegations at a nursing home, which led to new procedures to protect patients. According to Corrado, she kicked off her TV career in Syracuse, New York.
At that time, she worked as the weekend anchor and a multimedia journalist at NBC3 doing everything from producing her own shows to shooting her own video. She also reported live from New York City for the dedication of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. In the end, she managed to earn her cum laude from Fordham University.
It was in the same university where she was awarded the prestigious Edward A. Walsh Scholarship. Later on, she became the manager of Fordham’s television station. The New York State Associated Press Broadcaster’s Association twice recognized her work while she was still in college.
