TV news couple Jordan, Farr buy house in Evanston

WLS-Ch. 7-weekend news anchor Karen Jordan and her husband, WMAQ-Ch. 5 general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor Christian Farr, have traded up to a larger home, paying just under $1 million earlier this month for a four-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot Colonial-style house in northwest Evanston.

Jordan and Farr, both 43, in August listed their four-bedroom, 2,800-square-foot all-brick house in Skokie for $825,000, as Elite Street has previously reported. It most recently had been listed for $642,500 when it went under contract on March 15. The couple paid $800,000 in 2006 for the Skokie home.

For Jordan, the purchase in Evanston represents a homecoming of sorts. The daughter of longtime WGN-Ch. 9 news anchor and reporter Robert Jordan grew up in Evanston.

Built in 2003, the 13-room house has 5-1/2 baths, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and one fireplace. The couple paid slightly above the home’s $989,000 asking price.
