Alexa Ashwell Biography
Alexa Ashwell is an American News reporter at Fox 45. She joined the News team in May 2017. Ashwell joined Fox 45 news from WSOC-TV/Cox Media Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. In WSOC-TV/Cox she reported on different issues including riots following the fatal officer-involved shooting of Keith Lamont Scott in 2016 September.
During her work as a reporter, she was also able to produce a number of exclusive pieces while working with local law enforcement to expose the human trafficking of young teens in the community. Before she joined Charlotte, Alexa had also worked as a reporter and anchor in Ohio and West Virginia. Ashwell began her career covering the death of Senator Robert C. Byrd, the death of 29 miners in the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion and the special election for current Senator Joe Manchin.
