Jim Angle Biography

James Angle is an American journalist. He is also a former television reporter for Fox News. He also served in the U.S. Army. He was deployed to Vietnam and Germany. He gave tours of Berlin to GIs as part of the special Berlin Brigade.

Angle was a nightly contributor to the show Special Report with Brit Hume. This was in 1996 when he was a Fox News reporter. He was also a substitute host for the Friday edition of the program, giving Brit Hume a chance to appear on Fox News Sunday as a panelist. Angle was named Chief Washington Correspondent for Fox News Channel in 2005. In 2011, he was promoted to Chief National Correspondent. He was also a correspondent for CNN as a political correspondent and ABC News covering economics.

Jim received the “Excellence in Financial Journalism” award twice. He was Senior White House Correspondent for National Public Radio during the Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush administrations. He was awarded the “Merriman Smith Memorial Award” in 2001 and 2003 for distinguished White House coverage. Columnist Nat Hentoff praised Angle as “One of the fairest, incisive, and informed investigative reporters on the Washington scene.” His last day at Fox News was December 19, 2014. He said he would, “love to host an internet wine show in the future.”

Jim Angle is one of the most respected journalists. In 2005, was named Senior Washington Correspondent for Fox News in Washington. Before that, he was National Public Radio’s Senior White House Correspondent during both the Reagan and Bush administrations.

Angle has received numerous awards and honors for his reporting. He has twice been honored with the Merriman Smith Memorial Award, awarded by the White House Correspondents’ Association, for outstanding presidential news coverage under deadline pressure in the category for broadcast journalism, in 2003 and 2001. Jim also received the “Excellence in Financial Journalism Award” twice for his reporting on economic issues on Nightline in 1994 and 1995. He has a Masters Degree from the University of Texas and served in the military in Berlin, Germany and Danang, Vietnam.
