Tuma started his career at WHSV TV3 Winchester in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia as the Chief Meteorologist. It was there he received the prestigious AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorology seal. Shortly after, he landed a job at WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. He covered all different types of weather events while working in the Mid-Atlantic. From Hurricane Sandy coming ashore, to the June 2012 Derecho, to the devastating Tornado Outbreak in 2011 and the numerous crippling East Coast blizzards. He also traded the snow for sunshine (and some fog!) and he was excited to call the Bay Area his home!
Tuma stated that “I feel lucky every day. I turned my hobby into a career so it never feels like I’m working. In my down time, I enjoy cooking, running, spending time with family and traveling. I participated in my first Triathlon last year in Richmond, Virginia. My goal is to complete a full marathon very soon.”
