David Haffenreffer Relationships
Former CNN financial news anchor, David Haffenreffer is presently single but was previously married to Lara Christine Von Seelen, co-anchor of the live TV show “Good Morning America”, popularly known as Lara Spencer. They got married in 2000 when David moved over to CNN as TV news anchor while she worked as a TV reporter for WABC-TV. David and Lara tied the nuptial knot on September 30, 2000, at St. Andrew’s Dune Church in Southampton, New York in a ceremony that was officiated by Rev. Peter M. Larsen and found its way into the TV series Martha Stewart Living (1991-2004) and also published in the Martha Stewart Living Magazine. The union was blessed with two lovely kids – Duff Haffenreffer (b. 2002) and Katharine Paige Haffenreffer (b. 2004).
However, the children were not enough to stop the marriage from heading to the rocks. The couple announced their separation, which shocked their fans and was officially divorced on June 18, 2015. Their marriage seemed like a fairytale and none of their fans would have expected them not to be together forever and that is why when the announcement for their separation came out in March 2015, their fans were dumbstruck. No reason was given for the divorce but it is suggested in some quarters that the former couple had private irreconcilable differences which degenerated into their eventual breakup. Despite their divorce and separation, the two intend to remain good friends for the sake of their kids so that they can raise them together. They were quoted as saying that the decision to get a divorce was not an easy one for them but that their kids remained their “top priority”.
Since the divorce, David has remained single while concentrating on building his new career but the same cannot be said of Lara who announced recently that she was engaged to tech entrepreneur Rick McVey who is also CEO of a financial technology company, MarketAxess. The two met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

Lara Spencer has finalized her divorce from David Haffenreffer, E! News can confirm.
The Good Morning America co-host and her ex “are still close friends,” says a source. Spencer and Haffenreffer, a CNN reporter turned real estate broker, announced in March that they were separating after 15 years of marriage.
At the time, Spencer, 46, and Haffenreffer, 47, told Page Six (which was first to report the news of the split as well as the finalized divorce) that their children Kate, 10, and Duff, 13, “remain our top priority,” adding, “We will raise them and care for them together.”
That certainly seems to be the case! Earlier this week, Lara Instagrammed a smiling photo of herself, Haffenreffer and their kids at a Yankees game.
It’s clear that Spencer, who just renewed her show Flea Market Flip with HGTV, is very family-oriented. Part of that likely comes from the close relationship she had with her own mother and father through the years.
“Everything I’ve done I can trace back to their encouragement and watching them lead by example,” she said in a 2012 interview with Greenwich magazine. “They never ever lost hope when I was making zero money and people said, ‘Forget it. Go do something attainable.’”
Spencer tries to mirror her own parenting style after her mother and father’s, which means encouraging Kate and Duff to pursue their passions—no matter how crazy they might seem! “I want them to dream big,” she told Greenwich mag. “That’s what my parents did for me
