Alyana Gomez Biography

Alyana Gomez is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist, she currently works for Fox owned-and-operated TV station in San Francisco Bay Area as a weekend anchor and reporter for KTVU FOX2, California Bay area’s number 1 news source.

She is proud to be a part of an amazing group of extremely driven, talented women called “25 Women” whose mission is to continue empowering other women in Oakland, to succeed and make a difference in their community. I’m all about girl power!

My next stop on this wild journalist journey was Jacksonville, Florida where I worked as a reporter for Action News Jax. While it was one of the most challenging times in my career, the experience enriched my life.

I covered everything from tornadoes to high profile murder trials. I had the privilege of sharing a Jacksonville family’s journey to finally getting closure and justice for their beloved son, Jordan Davis.

The murder trial made national news, because of its similarities to the Trayvon Martin case. I was a part of an excellent crew of journalists who won an Emmy for the coverage of Jordan Davis’ murder trial.

During that time in Florida, I met my husband who has become one of the most supportive people in my life. He was willing to let me follow my dreams, which meant moving to several cities we knew nothing about, before we finally decided to land in the Bay Area.
