Amanda Plasencia is an American Emmy-award winning reporter for WTVJ-TV Miami, FL (NBC 6). She is very proud to cover news from her native Miami.
Plasencia attended New York University from where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Journalism, a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a minor in Communications.
She has worked as a reporter for News 12 Brooklyn/The Bronx and WCBS 880 Radio. Plasencia also interned interned at NBC 4 New York, NY1 Noticias and CBS Channel One.
She is fluent in English and Spanish and is learning Chinese and Italian! When not reporting, she enjoys singing, dancing, biking, fishing, sports, cooking and photography.
