Contessa Brewer is an American freelance television journalist and actress born on March 16, 1974. She is known for her marathon on-air coverage of breaking news and big political stories.

Contessa attended Sacopee Valley High School in Hiram, Maine where she graduated in 1992. She then attended Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism in 1996. She also received a Certificate of Contemporary Europe following her political studies in Strasbourg, France.

In September 2003, Contessa joined MSNBC prior to which she was working for WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a weekend anchor and also a general assignment reporter. From 1997 to 1999, she worked for KMIR-TV in Palm Springs, California.
