Hoggard joined Action News on March 2005 after spending six years producing the highest-rated morning newscast in the country at our sister station in Houston, KTRK-TV.
He prides himself on breaking exclusive stories — like his investigation into Fresno and Clovis clinics accused of shortchanging vaccines for patients, leaving them vulnerable to illness and pregnancy and exposing a Fresno police officer accused of pimping out his prostitute girlfriend.
His exclusive series on loopholes in jail policies and AB-109 allowing sex offenders to avoid jail despite violating parole even got a reaction from the state government.
He was the first reporter to interview the Valley Marine who robbed two banks just after he was released from the VA on a PTSD diagnosis and who later got help from President Obama to regain control of his life.
Corin Hoggard Education
After graduating from the University of Houston Honors College with a B.S. in biology, Corin rediscovered his passion for journalism and broke into the TV business after earning a Houston Press award for his writing at a local newspaper.
He even returned to Houston to help out ABC13 with their wall-to-wall coverage of Hurricane Harvey’s devastation and the area’s early steps towards recovery.

The Radio-Television News Directors Association recognized Corin for his reporting on the brain drain out of the Central Valley, and he won an Emmy for reporting on a terrorist’s knife attack at UC Merced.

Brandon Estrada has come a long way in a short amount of time.
The 5-year-old needed emergency treatment at Valley Children’s Hospital after a bullet hit his head last Tuesday.
Prosecutors say he was comatose for a while because of a brain injury.
Six days later, he’s back at home and showing significant improvement.
“He’s doing good. He’s still being the little boy he always was, you know, running around, jumping, but he can’t do much right now because his head is bad right now,” said Brandon’s sister Ana Estrada.
The boy is known as Chino initially had some trouble with his appetite, but he’s starting to eat well again and get back to his normal life.
The neighbor accused of shooting him almost took it from him, according to investigators.
Kings County sheriff’s deputies arrested 29-year-old Rowdy Paulo.
He lives at the next property over and he’s now charged with attempted murder and other charges for opening fire on his neighbors’ house with an assault weapon or machine gun.
The boy’s family tells us Paulo earned whatever punishment he gets.
“Why did he even have to do that? We didn’t do anything to him so he could be shooting into our house, especially knowing we have kids, a lot of kids,” said Ana.
Paulo will stay in jail unless he can pay an $800,000 bail.
He’s due back in court next month.
Corin Hoggard Local Landscaping Company Is Cutting Lawns Without A Drop Of Gas
Article by Corin Hoggard;
When Alex Schick makes his approach, the lawn gets lower, and so does the volume.
“Number one benefit: It’s quieter,” he said.
But the benefits of Going Green Gardening don’t stop there.
“It’s cleaner. A lot of our customers like to leave their windows open, especially in the fall and spring,” he said. “They don’t have the gas smell from the blowers and mowers going into their house.”
There’s no gas smell because there’s no gas.
“We have our mowers, our edgers, our weedeaters, our blowers, chainsaw, hedge trimmers – it’s all-electric, so we do everything without a drop of gas,” Schick said.
The landscaper’s trailer is covered with solar panels.
Its door is lined with batteries, and it’s filled with electric-powered equipment designed to cut down on noise and pollution.
Those gas-powered leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and mowers are about to pass cars as the worst air polluters in California, spewing out formaldehyde, benzene, and particulate matter.
The California Air Resources Board predicts they’ll be the single biggest ozone polluter in the state by next year.
