Andrea Walker is an American news presenter for WYKT. She is Jessamine County native she was thrilled to be delivering news from her home town and state. She attended Western Kentucky University before transferring to and graduating from Eastern Kentucky University.
She got to start in television as an Associate Producer and Editor for WLEX. From there she worked for a short time as a Morning Host and Producer at WNKY in Bowling Green, before moving to WBKO where she worked as an Anchor and Producer for the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts for two years. While at WBKO, she won the Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters’ first-place award for “Best News Anchor” in 2015 and 2016.
Walker was an evening anchor at WBKO in Bowling Green when she decided to go to a news producing workshop Thomas spoke at. When she’s not working, you can typically find Andrea hiking, trail riding, bargain shopping, or working on renovation projects for a historic schoolhouse in Jessamine County where she now lives.
