Kim Baldonado is an American journalist working as a reporter for NBC 4 news. She is on air on the NBC 4 News at 11 a.m, 4 p.m, 5 p.m, and 6 p.m.
She grew up in San Gabriel and is known for her community work. Kim received a scholarship from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. She attended U.C. Berkeley and graduated with a degree in Social Science. Kim is currently living in Los Angeles.

Kim is a six-time Emmy Award-winning reporter working in NBC 4 News at 11 am, 4 pm, 5 pm, and 6 pm. She is a respected journalist as she reports on breaking news and feature pieces that she writes and produces. Kim takes on the complex issues mostly and her exceptional writing and storytelling skills are always well represented in her work.
Kim has been awarded for tackling topics such as the state of public education in Los Angeles and the changing face of homelessness in Southern California.
Also, she takes on stories that are of historical significance such as her coverage of Pope John Paul II’s important visit to Cuba, which led to progress in religious freedom for the Communist nation. Kim was also the reporter who covered the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, and the massive Latino and immigrant civil rights march in Washington, D.C.
Her career began when she was in San Francisco. She was an assignment editor before she went back to Los Angeles as a field producer for KTTV. She then moved to KESQ as an on-air reporter after polishing her reporting, writing, and editing skills while at KTTV.
She won a prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award for the half an hour special ‘LAUSD: Battle for Control’ and Los Angeles-area Emy Awards for live news coverage, social issues, and education. Kim was also awarded other 6 Golden Mikes and an Associated Press Mark Twain Award.
Kim Baldonado was also chosen to cover the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in 2002 and the massive 1996 Latino and immigrant civil rights march in Washington, DC, that attracted thousands of demonstrators from across the country.

Alleged gang members in court for the death of a marine

Two suspected gang members are being tried for the death of a Camp Pendleton Marine, who was killed in 2016 while on leave in Los Angeles.
Sandra Lopez, the mother of the victim, has attended each court, fulfilling the promise she made to her son, Lance Corporal Carlos Segovia-López while fighting for his life in the hospital.
“One of them was that justice was going to be done,” said Sandra Lopez.
Prosecutors allege that Oscar Aguilar and Esau Ríos are gang members who shot Segovia-López after he confronted them when he suspected they were looking for cars to steal.
“He witnessed crimes and responded,” said Claudia Pérez, the victim’s friend. “Obviously he did not expect this result, that he would lose his life, because nobody deserves that, but he did what he was supposed to do.”
In the initial statements on Tuesday, the defense attorneys argued that Segovia Lopez was put in a precarious position and that Aguilar and Rio were afraid of him.
“I want the truth to come to light and that there be justice for all involved,” said Sandra Aguilar, the defender’s sister who has also attended each court. “I want to make sure he’s being treated fairly.”
She insists that her brother is not guilty of murder.
“The truth is that someone did lose his life and that is very unfortunate, but the right person has to pay for that. It will be for the court to decide if the right person is one of these men. “
