Kelly transferred from Tecumseh Elementary School in suburban Syracuse, New York to Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, New York, when she was 9 years old. She then attended Syracuse University. In the year 1992, she earned an undergraduate degree in political science from the university’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Three years later (1995), she graduated from Albany Law School with a Juris Doctor Degree.

Kelly serves at Sirius XM as a daily host of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” a talk show and podcast, which airs from Monday to Friday at 12 noon on the talk radio channel Triumph. She first announced the launch of her media production company, Devil May Care Media, with the “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast. The 1st episode premiered on date 28 of the same month. The podcast moved to Sirius XM on September 7, 2021. Prior to this, she served at NBC News and before that, she was at FOX News.
After graduating from college, she moved to Washington, D.C. in the year 2003 to work for WJLA-TV (ABC) as a general assignment reporter. There she reported on both local and national events such as live coverage of the 2004 presidential election, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor’s retirement, and William Rehnquist’s (Chief Justice) death, just to name a few.
While in college, Kelly served at Bickel & Brewer LLP, the Chicago office of law firm, as an associate attorney. In late 1996, Kelly co-penned an article for the American Bar Association’s journal, “The Conflicting Roles of Lawyer as Director”. Later on, she went to work for Jones Day for 9 years, where one of her clients was the credit bureau Experian. In the realm of politics, she identifies as an independent, and in the year 2015, she told Variety that she had voted for both Republicans and Democrats. Kelly is a philanthropist, appearing at a fundraiser for the parental rights organization Moms for Liberty.

Kelly joined FOX News in the year 2004. She started as a contributor to legal segments for Special Report with Brit Hume, and as a host of “Kelly’s Court,” her own legal segment. Also, she made appearances in a weekly segment on “The O’Reilly Factor,” and filled in for Greta Van Susteren on “On the Record” on an occasional basis. She mainly concentrated on political matters on “On the Record.” Kelly also served as an occasional contributor, where she anchored the weekend newscasts.

Kelly resigned from FOX News in January 2017 and joined NBC News. There she began as a host of the 3rd hour of the morning show “Today” with her program titled ‘Megyn Kelly Today.’ In October 2018, after a segment discussing blackface, the show got canceled.
At NBC News, Kelly conducted an interview with Vladimir Putin (Russian president) on June 2, 2017. She 1st interviewed him in a panel discussion she moderated at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, and subsequently in a face-to-face interview for the premiere episode of NBC News’s “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly,” which aired June 4, 2017.
