Kupfer is a proud graduate of the University of Oregon. She attended the university in 2005 and graduated after 4 years with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism, as well as a Minor in Sports Business. During her stint there she was a Make-A-Wish Foundation Volunteer, Chi Omega New Member Educator, and a member of Jam Squad Hip Hop Dance Team and Chi Omega Sorority. She has worked for KXTV – ABC10 in Sacramento, California for 5 years (December 2012 – December 2017). There she wore many hats: Morning News Reporter/Anchor, Multimedia Journalist, Traffic Anchor, and Weather Forecaster.
Kupfer has also served at KRNV-TV (NBC) in Reno, Nevada, as a Sports/News Anchor, Multimedia Journalist, Weather Forecaster, and Morning News Reporter. She spent 2 years and 8 months there (April 2010 – November 2012). She has also served as a Sports Intern, Video Editor, Production Assistant, and Producer there at KRNV. It was there at KRNV that she began her broadcasting career.
Kupfer is so passionate about teaching kids “arts and crafts.” While growing up, she used played school — she says that her mother has photos of her with all of her stuffed animals lined up with encyclopedia books as “desks.” She also used to talk to them and grade their papers, which she wrote!

Kupfer’s inspiration to become a journalist came from her grandfather, Mark Bernard Kupfer, who was a survivor of the Holocaust. In the year 1939, when Kupfer was a teenager, during the German Invasion, her grandpa force her from his home in Poland. Kupfer’s grandpa survived but most of his family did not survive in Nazi labor camps. He even penned a book about his journey.
