Geoff Fox WTNH
Fox began his meteorology career in May 1984 for the television station WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut, where he was then promoted to “senior meteorologist”. In 1995, while he was still working for WTNH, he began hosting the program Inside Space, a program on Syfy (SciFi Channel at the time).
In 2011, after 27 years at WTNH, Fox discovered that his contract at WTNH would not be renewed and he therefore left. His departure from WTNH received national media attention due to the loyalty of WTNH viewers in addition to his long-spanned career with the station.
In April 2011, he was hired by Fox affiliate WTIC-TV, to do the weather and science reports on weeknights. After 19 months, Fox was dismissed for what the station identified as “inappropriate conduct”.
Following the scandal, Fox lost nearly 2000 of its followers on Facebook. Later, he developed an Internet-based company for designing and building websites. In January 2015, Fox joined KMIR-TV NBC 36 in Palm Springs, where he served as the weeknight meteorologist from early 2015 until September 2015.
Geoff Fox Nebraska
On August 19, 2015, he announced that he would be working as the on-air meteorologist for “News Channel Nebraska’s first station in Norfolk.” He forecasts for News Channel Nebraska from his home studio weather center built in his garage.
Geoff Fox Pancreatic Cancer
Fox is a cancer survivor. In 2016, Fox was diagnosed with cancer and it was removed before it spread. In an interview in 2017, when he was asked how he is doing, he said, “All my treatment is over. The chemotherapy left me extremely weak. It turned out I had an iron deficiency, so I got an iron infusion. And now I seem to be great.”
