Bittner serves as a multimedia journalist at the Gray Television Washington News Bureau. Prior to joining this station, she previously worked for FOX43 where she served as a reporter. While at FOX43, her reporting covered a case in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In addition, she has covered multiple national news stories such as when she served as Executive Producer at Pittsburgh’s WTAE during the misfortune of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. She had to fly to Florida to cover the Pulse nightclub shooting and the Baltimore riots following the demise of Freddie Gray. Bittner’s highly-recognized documentary projects were the recipients of multiple awards and tackled topics such as the passage of the state’s medical marijuana law, the oil and gas industry, and the state of local police coverage.
Bittner is also a two-time Edward R. Murrow winner. She has 16 additional Emmy nominations for her investigative deep dives, documentary work, and election coverage. She is also a recipient of multiple awards from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and the Golden Quills.
Bittner attended Penn State University where she graduated with a degree in journalism with minors in political science and history. She schooled at Red Land High School in Lewisberry. Previously, she has been in positions at the York Dispatch, and WLWT in Cincinnati, as executive producer and head of election coverage for WTAE in Pittsburgh.
