Andrew Kalista Career
Kalista serves as a sports anchor/reporter at FOX43. At 10 months old he attended his first college football game and attended nearly each home game of the Nittany Lions for the next 20 years so it is no wonder that he always wanted to cover Penn State. He moved to Charlottesville, VA to work at the Newsplex after teaching in his local area for just over a year. moon-eyed and filled with joy, he walked into his first television job as a morning production assistant. The sports director at the Newsplex was a fellow, “Skook” (Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania native), and placed him to work in the sports department, shooting highlights and some writing.
Kalista made his way to State College, PA, and WHVL-TV after 10 months. He had some firsts in Happy Valley, some great, some not-so-great (cough, names on the uniforms)over the course of five years. He undergoes at WHVL such as calling play-by-play, sideline reporting, color analyst, hosting his personal political talk show, launching the first Penn State hockey television show, and co-hosting, along with Jeff Byers the Penn State Football post-game show on ESPN radio. He hates to be in the office, as a matter of fact, people like it when he is out of the office as well, hence if one has a story that one wants to be told contact him.
