Guerrero is a general assignment reporter who knew she wanted to be a journalist during a 6th-grade field trip to her local news station: KTRE-TV. She was promoted to journalism after seeing the work that went behind the scene to bring the news to the public and also observing the process of asking tough questions and getting answers.
After reporting for Hudson Middle and High School’s journalism program, Guerrero worked as a production assistant at local news stations throughout high school and college. While in college she worked her way up from production assistant to on-air general assignment reporter at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She later joined Madison, Wisconsin, where she worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor at WISC-TV.
Guerrero covered the Big Game XLV at Cowboys Stadium and even interviewed the parents of Packers QB, Aaron Rodgers, at the Stockyards Station when the cattle drive was canceled due to the frosty conditions. Later she worked at KOB-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor, where her love for green chiles grew.
Afterward, Guerrero made her way to the Pacific Northwest and KIRO-TV in Seattle, Washington, as a general-assignment reporter, later to weekend morning anchor. She likes Seattle but loves his native home more. She is excited to call DFW and NBC 5 home due to the opportunity to move into Spanish-language news by contributing reports to NBC’s sister station, Telemundo 39.
