Brian Curtis is an American award-winning journalist working for NBC5 Dallas-Fort Worth serving as an anchor. He has been working for the station since 2003.

Curtis completed his Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and from Emory University a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He also graduated from  Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT. He was brought up in Connecticut and Rhode Island, but got here as fast as he could! North Texas is now home.

Curtis co-anchors NBC 5 News at 6 p.m. & 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. He has more than 25 years of experience in local television news. He has also covered major stories for NBC5 which include the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas, the tornado outbreak of 2012, and the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia. 

Curtis was also one of the panelists for the 2014 Texas gubernatorial debates. Curtis has also covered the Olympics in Pyeongchang, London, Rio, Beijing, Torino, and Athens, as well as the Super Bowl and the World Series. He is also fervent about NBC5’s “Clear The Shelters” project, which finds homes for animals in DFW-area shelters that have been covered by him.

Curtis joined NBC 5 as a general assignment reporter as well as worked his way up to the anchor desk.  At KOMU-TV in Columbia, is where his path to DFW started in Missouri, then passed through TV stations in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Birmingham, and Kansas City. He has also been honored several times as the best news anchor in Texas by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters and is a multiple Lone Star Emmy Award winner.
